Toranzo Valley (High Pas)

The Toranzo Valley in the Upper Pas Pas Region (at the Burgos Cantabria limit) is one of the most iconic and important valleys of Cantabria, which retains its tradition and culture with its own character. It is composed of 4 municipalities: Luena, Puente Viesgo, Corvera de Toranzo and Santiurde de Toranzo. The surroundings of Puente Viesgo are characterized by rugged mountainous and some patches of forest in the Dobra mountains (hayal of Juyuela). The trees are mainly eucalyptus and pine (for wood production), there are animals like roe deer, wild boar and fox and it has a variety of birds of prey like the griffon vulture and the Egyptian vulture.
