Torroja del Priorat

This picturesque village of Torroja del Priorat is worth a visit. Its name comes from the Red Tower, a watchtower built by the Arabs in the tenth century. During the First Carlist War, it was fortified town, and during the Second World War, the town's church was burned after the occupation of the town. The parish church is dedicated to St. Michael and was built in the eighteenth century. It is a remarkable building of neoclassical style with Baroque elements.
