From Tyssevassbu it was a 3.5 hour scramble down to the objective of our trip, the Trolltunga. On this section the way marking was not so good, however it is sufficient just to follow the electricity pylons.

The Trolltunga does not disappoint, a thin sliver of rock hovering 700m above the intensely blue Ringedalsvatnet lake. When we arrived there were already plenty of people enjoying the spectacle. To get onto the Trolltunga you need to climb down a few steel stemples and then join the courteous queue for your turn to appear in an iconic photo.

The track from the Trolltunga to the Skeggedal car park is 11kms long. The first 9kms walking along the top of cliff and starring down into the depths of the lake and climbing up and over Trombeskar to a small plateau dotted with cabins is delightful. However the final 2kms is extremely arduous. The path is steep, muddy and in some sections badly eroded.
