Vang Vieng

This is a spectacular place for trekking, swimming, caving, climbing, and much more. Highly recommended for backpackers. Wild parties have stopped at the edge because several people have died from the combination of drinking and rocks. You can enjoy vieng vang as a hiker, but I recommend staying on the other side of the river.
