Varadero or Marisucia Cala

The beaches of Los Canos de Meca, is along with those of Cabo de Gata, a paradise for lovers of un-crowded beaches and is almost "wild". Though the waters are very warm, the Atlantic is colder, its waters are clear, clean and it's always a joy to dip in them. One of the most beautiful and quiet beaches is Varadero Creek or "Marisucia" which is just off trafalgar lighthouse. This beach is highly recommended for days with westerly winds as the waters have virtually no surf and the sand is too thick to be lifted. When the east wind blows it forms a strong surf and marine algae and debris are deposited on the shore, hence its nickname of "Marisucia".
