Veretz is located 12km from the well-known tourist destination of Tours which is located just over the Cher River. It has a campsite, ideal for those traveling by bike or unwilling to stay within the city of Tours, as well as some guest houses. It is a quiet place beside the bridge that crosses the river and its small churches. It has some vestiges and buildings, like a 19th century castle (whose construction dates back to the Middle Ages), the remains of a Roman aqueduct , and, like many towns in the area, some caves in the cliffs that border the rivers.
