Villa Contarini

Villa Contarini is one of the most great Venetian villas, and certainly one of the most beautiful, located in the semicircular square of Piazzola sul Brenta. The main body of the villa, which dates back to 1546, is probably the work of Andrea Palladio, and at the end of the 1600's, the side extensions were added. The interior is very well preserved, with stucco ceilings and frescoes. Since 2005, it's been owned by the region of Venice, and is used for concerts, exhibitions, conferences and private events.

The Villa Contarini - Ghirardi Foundation(Padua city) was built in 1546 and currently has an exhibition of maps from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century in a camping area, a new Gipsoteca pieces, a Greek-Roman lapidary museum . The Foundation also organizes permanentexhibitions .It's surrounded by a park, rich in trees.
