Overwhelming Chinese influence

This temple is perched high atop a hill overlooking the city and gives you the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views of the city and the Mae Kok River down below. The temple itself has an overwhelming Chinese influence, like many others in the city. The temple features bright colors, and forms of dragons and monsters to scare away evil spirits. Inside, there's a Bronze Buddha in a nice Maravijaya stance. The impost important part is the "City Pillar", the ruins of a Lanna-style stupa surrounded by two small circles of columns. The story goes that this chedi was built by King Kaew Ruan, ruler of Chai Narai, to enshrine the relics of Buddha that were given from an important Sri Lankan monk to King Pangkarat of Yonok Nakaphan.
