Historical synagogue

The first synagogue was of Sejny era of wood covered with tiles, dating back to the eighteenth century. The current synagoguei was begun back in 1885 on the initiative of Rabbi Luria Becalel, who was the successor Avigdor Itzhak a religious philosopher and also the founder of a Talmudic school. It was popularly known as the white synagogue, because there is an older one, thus the new one stands out due to the color. During the Second World War, the Nazis destroyed the synagogue, and deported all the Jews of the population. After this part of the building was rebuilt and then used as a fire station and later as a fertilizer warehouse, among other things.
