Beach side town

Zandvoort is a small, beach side town in the western Netherlands, some 30 kilometers from Amsterdam. Located in the North Sea, in the summer it's filled with tourists and the Dutch who spend the day enjoying the beach. It's not very big, but it's pretty nice. In winter, during the extreme cold, you can see the beach contrasted with the snowy streets, which is unique. Its streets are tiny, with small houses, as if it were a village. Many of the streets are cobblestone and the most attractive thing about the town is the boardwalk. It's teeny and looks like the beaches of Alicante or Valencia. By train, you can reach it in just 25 minutes from Amsterdam and you can have a fine morning walking around. The best, obviously, is the summertime when you can enjoy the beach, plus, there is the odd little hotel decently priced. However, it's still not bad to visit in winter, because the trip is so short and it's quite different from other Dutch cities. The Zandvoort race circuit is closeby, where several awards were handed out by Formula 1 a few years ago.
