When you arrive to a place like Châteauneuf you just want to try their amazing wines, but you also must fill the stomach. The restaurant Mule du Pape is at an intersection of streets that ends in a tiny, well used one, containing everything from a small square with the tourist office to impressive cellars and wine shops. We decided on a menu of Provencal food and a wine list, mostly native to that area. I chose a tasty pizza, which gave your mouth all the flavors of this area. Another set of plates we tried watered by a red earth. I have fond memories of this place, the service was great, with the musical accent they have in the south of France and makes them more friendly if possible.
It was the Country Aguilar guide which recommended this restaurant. And what a great recommendation! It is very quiet and spacious, with a terrace perfect for night time (at midday the sun shines directly onto it!). The waiter is very attentive. It has a good wine list. Food was well presented and very well prepared. It was a good choice to finish a morning dedicated to this region world famous for its wine.
