The first thing I have to say is that the hotel chain "Jolly" was purchased by the Spanish hotel chain "Nh hotels". Whoever goes to a Nh knows what to expect: city hotels with excellent service, good decoration and not too expensive prices. This was the main reason why we decided on the Jolly Hotel Madison Towers. We wanted to experience five days living in downtown Manhattan and enjoying the city without having to take a subway or a taxi. We wanted to explore the city on foot and at night and to be able to rest in a good room. Well, the curious thing is that it's half hotel Jolly (floors 1 through 14) and half Nh (from the 15 floor), and that they have not yet finished the work to suit the image of Nh hotels. The first night we were on the 11th floor. The hotel looked like it was 70 years old. It was spacious but old and uncomfortable. The next day we went to talk to the staff, and attended to the Office Manager, "Vera", a pro who was on top of the situation and he understood perfectly that we had booked an Nh with everything that that incurs and that our room did not live up to the expectations of the money we were going to pay. For a bit more we changed to the 16th floor, another world. This was as expected if NH. A hotel like! 100% recommend the hotel (but, remember, from the 15th floor). From our window we could see the Empire State Building. Of course we booked through minube.
This is a charming hotel, visited by people from all over the world, young, and it exudes a fantastic New York vibe :) There are concerts and performances, there's a lively pub in the hotel, internet room, and it's decorated with pop artists' works, and American expressionism ... All at a reasonable price.
Housing in New York can often be tricky: too far, too expensive, too noisy ... there are a lot of potential problems with hotels! Room Mate Grace, however, is in an absolutely ideal location, just steps from Times Square (less than 5 minutes' walk away), in the heart of the city. The rooms, though on the small side, are well-insulated and comfortable. The hotel also has a small swimming pool, sauna and gym. The price is reasonable, despite all these amenities.
A friend recommended it to us who had just stayed in it, and really did not disappoint her. Although the website gave us everything we needed to chose, we went through the phone book and called for reservations, which turned out to be cheaper. Of course, we did not find anything too expensive in Manhattan comparing prices. Rooms are small, but with everything you need, and very clean. On a trip to NYC in the hotel room we just spent time sleeping and washing up, so it seemed perfect. The staff speaks Spanish, and is very attentive. The roof terrace is a worthwhile visit. It was the middle of winter, so we could only enjoy the views, but in the summer they put sofas and chairs out. And most importantly it is very central. It is 2 blocks from Rockefeller Center, and a short walk from Central Park.
State of the art hotel that manages to be modern and different while still comfortable and cozy. It's located next to Times Square. I was very surprised by the atmosphere, the decor and the way they approach things. For example, you can check in by yourself if you like. You can get breakfast to go with no problems. The building is super-modern building and has 27 floors of very well-priced rooms. On each floor you have a space for coffee, water, ice and free tea, and soft drinks machine. Breakfast, which is included in the room, is coffee and tea and a selection of homemade muffins. More filling dishes are paid separate. If you want breakfast out of the hotel you have a lot of places around.
The hotel is located at 42nd Street corner 10th Avenue only 7 minutes from Time Square and within walking distance of many of the top attractions in New York (though in a city of this size, you will probably have to use public transportation). In short it's a very practical and very different hotel. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Hotel Newton in Manhattan. We were greeted very well and we had a very large and spacious room. The room included a dining room-kitchen (refrigerator, coffee maker ...) with a table, chairs and a wardrobe. In the bedroom there were two large queen beds. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean with daily towel service.

This photo of the Wellington Hotel was taken on my way to Times Square, iconified as the "Center of the Universe". Times Square is the world's most visited tourist attraction, hosting over 39 million visitors annually. Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of whom are either tourists or people working in the area.
After a short taxi ride from Newark to New York City, we finally arrived in Chinatown, and at our hotel. Hotel Mulberry is located in the Columbus Park neighborhood where the Chinese do their daily exercises each morning. The hotel was very clean and the staff was pleasant. If you have a question about anything like routes or directions, don't hesitate t ask...they even printed a map for me. Breakfast is included and is served in the "Mama Eatery" nearby. Beware, though, as they only serve one breakfast per bed. So if you go with four people sharing a two-bed room, you'll have to pay $15-20.00 for the extra breakfasts. The hotel is close to Canal Street where you can catch the subway to just about anywhere in the city.

In December 2009, I stayed for a week at the WJ Hotel in New York City. It is a hotel in a strategic position to visit the city. The rooms are not very big (mine was very small), but clean and well organized. Plasma TV, strongbox, room service, free wifi. The staff is helpful and considerate. On the ground floor there is a rather well-known Japanese restaurant in the area: New York price but great quality.
