The state capital of Queensland is a nice city. It's a compromise between a large city and small town, but has a great quality of life. There are many gardens, parks, and river where you can get about by public transport and it even has an artificial beach. A great place to spend a few days during a trip to Australia with an excellent climate.
One of the lesser-known cities of Australia, in fact, while we were there for a week, the local people asked us why we chose there. But, it's a city that never disappoints anyone who wants to walk through the centre of a city full of shops, malls and buildings hidden in lively streets. It is also less than an hour's drive from many tourist spots. We enjoyed browsing through it, so I recommend it.
Brisbane is the 3rd biggest city in Australia, and perhaps the least known, but I assure you it is a very nice, modern place and has many sites ti visit. Surely it was not the Australian city was that I liked the most, but I was surprised because I knew very little about it before visiting.
