Saint-Martin-de-Ré

Saint-Martin-de-Ré is the most important town of the island of Ré. What was once an important fortified square, is now a quiet village with winding streets which breathes the smell of sea. At the port, now full of shops, the old harbor wall encircles the old fishermans quarter. The island breathes beauty and tranquility in every corner! Seeking shade and ptotection under the fortifications, we found Bardette Park: A beautiful garden where pine trees, acacias and oaks grow far from the bustle of the mainland. We took the path that continues along the edge to the coast.
