This inn was founded in Victorian times and today it is very famous in Scotland for its quality as a hotel and restaurant. Recently renovated, but be careful not to alter the original elements of the building, this property offers 11 rooms painstaking, with wooden beams across the ceiling and an open wood burning fireplace in all rooms, which gives it a special charm. The costs are effortable especially during the week. The restaurant is included as one of the places recommended by the Michelin Guide UK Traditional food as premium ingredients and attention to luxury. This makes this place as special as recommended for travelers. This inn is located in the scenic Devon Valley (Glen Devon) along the river that shares its name, which means that many hikers or rural areas are in the vicinity of this enclave. Particularly, it is one of my favorite hotels and restaurants that sometimes makes us feel as if we were in another era.
The Inn at Muckhart was founded in 1806. It was an important stopover for public tranporters on horseback to rest or spend the night on the road between Stirling and Edinburgh. The building and the pub área is virtually intact. The food in the pub is great with even better local beer (county of Clackman, close to the village of Dollar). The pub is interesting, but the highlight is the new área of country huts. They are of different sizes, very modern, well equipped and hold such a good reputation that they have been awarded 4-star rating. It´s great value for money, a traditional pub right next to the inn and it is central, allowing the traveler to be between Edinburgh, Stirling and even Perth. So this is more than a good option for those wishing to spend a few days. Bookings can be made for 3,4 or 7 nights. A good choice for those who enjoy the rural, historical setting.
