Summer atmosphere

This is a picturesque village. I don't know if that's because it's very touristy that the residents keep it neat and tidy. Everything seems to be almost perfect. The painted and whitewashed houses, lush and well-kept gardens, bars, breweries, and even the supermarkets were perfect! It's not very big, at least the old town isn't, it's just a couple of pedestrian streets that extend west along the sea with the large 18th and 19th century beach resorts, next to some abused 20th century ones. The city, or town, as we like to call it, has lost some of its importance as a Baltic seaside resort, to win in another field, that of a port of call for cruise ships who flock there as a base to the beautiful Berlin, which is about three hours away by train, car or bus.
