It's not rare to find a day of the week without a market in any town in the region of Axarquia. Contrary to the markets of the towns on the coast, that are probably more focused on tourism, here it's not common to find stalls with souvenirs, typical handmade tablecloths, and "knock off" clothes. Markets in the inland towns are smaller and generally more focused on the villagers. Therefore they try to supply them with more basic things, such as vegetables collected from the surrounding orchards, towels, blankets, sheets and utensils. The markets are usually in the main square of the town and are usually a main attraction for the residents.
