A Caribbean beach

This is one of the prettiest beaches in Spain and is formed by two smaller beaches: one 200-meter beach and another 300-meter one, divided by a rocky outcropping of 150meters. These sections comprise the bay known as Arenal de Son Saura.

The parking area is 100 meters from the beach and the capacity is limited. The image of the beach is very Caribbean, similar to the beaches in Formentera, the south of Ibiza, or the Cap de Ses Salines region of Mallorca.

The landscape is fantastic

The coast surrounding Ciutadella hides some fantastic landscapes. To the north, you have the Lighthouse of Punta Nati, which is an overwhelming experience especially if the wind is strong. The coastal cliffs fall over 40 meters down to the sea. The wild and desolate area is home to thousands of sea birds.

To the south, you’ll find many paths and trails to small coves and quiet beaches of unique beauty. Getting there, though, can be something of an Odyssey. The paths are seldom marked and have unexplained forks that can sometimes lead to dead ends.
