Bonampak

After visiting the ruins of Yaxchilan we visited those of Bonampak in the same day. The most surprising thing about the ruins of Bonampak is how fresh it is on the inside, they are the best preserved pre-Hispanic America. The ruins are in Lacandon territory and to access them, we had to change vehicles, since they are the ones who have permits to exploit that area. Beyond Palenque, and the more you go forward, the more you find yourself inside the jungle. It is impressive to see everything so green around and suddenly find these wonders where a big civilization lived for many years. The most representative of Bonampak frescoes are inside the caves, which show the organization and customs of the Mayan culture. It is amazing.
