1 review of Camoes Square

River Views

The Largo Camoes appears as you cross the old bridge on the Lima River. It's small, but it's the city centre, frequented by locals and tourists alike. In the centre of the square, there is the "chafariz" or fountain like those of other cities in the region such as Viana do Castelo. The square is a lovely place to watch the city's pulse while enjoying river views and sipping coffee on a terrace. We were also lucky enough to visit the city during its local festival, so we witnessed a joyful and colourful spectacle of giants and big heads.
