Chicoutimi

Chicoutimi today, is one of the three "neighborhoods" of the new city of Saguenay, along with Jonquière and La Baie. Of the three, Chicoutimi is the one I found to have more shops and daytime activities, including restaurants, bars and shops. On the banks of the Saguenay River, you can for walks through a town that has a small cathedral, a convent which houses a historical museum and also a former paper mill, the remains can be seen for free, and you can visit the interior for a small fee of Canadian dollars. You can go to the tourist office to pick up a map of the place, and later go for a wander through the streets.
