Cholet Textile Museum

Located in the old laundry Sauvageau River, the Textile Museum of Cholet offers tells the history of the textile industry in the city. Built in 1881 and opened in 1995 as a museum, its walls tells the history and the traditions used by the artisans to make their fabrics. There´s also a route in which you see the manufacturing steps of the wool fiber cloth and the yarn for weaving and bleaching. In the history room, visitors can also learn about the working conditions of workers in the nineteenth century. The museum has also contributed to the recognition of the history of Cholet textile industry at the prestigious national and European levels.
