The Civic Museum is situated in Castel di Sangro and it is one of the most important natural history musuems to be found in the European Union and one of the leading museums of the capital city of Abruzzo. The museum displays major collections of mineralogy, paleontology, botany and zoology. It houses a total of nearly three million pieces. It also has one hundred dioramas, depicting well the world's major ecosystems.
