La Casa de Colon

The Columbus House Museum is a museum located on Calle Real de San Cristóbal de la Gomera. At the beginning of the road is the well of Aguada, which is worth a visit - there's a brief explanation of the conquest of the Americas, and the role that La Gomera played. The museum has more information, and is installed in a beautiful seventeenth century Canarian mansion. There are a number of rooms with information about Columbus' various voyages, with the dates and routes as well some navigational objects that were used at the time. La Gomera was the last place that Columbus stopped before heading on to America.
