Elche Reservoir (Pantà d'Elx)

The province of Alicante and its wetlands are full of history. The Tibi reservoir is considered the oldest in Europe, and I believe that the Elche reservoir is considered the first arched dam in Europe (built by the Romans).The truth that it is surprisingly interesting.

Access is easy: as you get close you can choose to picnic in the grassy area or continue straight to the reservoir. The picnic area lets you access a small channel and see the waterfall there.

There are lots of fossils and strange rock formations that have been carved by centuries of water. I really recommended it!
