The options are interesting. There are a couple of tasting menus, each of which is more surprising than the last. Both the kitchen and the wait-staff definitely know what they're doing.
We had the chance to chat with the owner about the wine list and he told us all kinds of funny little stories. Then, he took the opportunity to bring us a cookbook that the restaurant staff had put together and encouraged us to try some of the recipes at home. A really nice guy!
In the center of Elche is one of the best Turkish food restaurants in town. The decor is exquisite and it has a peaceful atmosphere, where everything is immersed in an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The collection of lamps with which they have decorated the room is very nice. Above all, the prices are good if you compare them to other places in the center. A great place, I will return.

This is an old rustic farmhouse decorated with antique furniture and tools that has a spectacular garden and a spacious and elegant hall for large events. That was my case: I went there for a friend's wedding and liked it so much that I've been back several times since.
Besides being traditional, the dishes are very well-prepared; the specialty is steak tartar and it’s delicious and served beautifully.
Also, Chencho, the sommelier, has been recognized as the best in Spain so you know you're getting good advice.

The quality is great and the prices are affordable for all budgets. The atmosphere is more or less the same every day of the week.

This burger is similar to all other burgers but the difference is that it is 4 times higher! Maybe it's not the "best" food in the world, we all know that, but sometimes we all feel like trying something different. It's perfect to come in groups, as the dishes are so big that you have to share with someone. They serve full beer jugs, dripping with foam. A great place to visit in San Antón, in the new area.
The Dátil de Oro is one of Elche's premier restaurants and its privileged location amid the palms in the UNESCO-awarded Palmeral de Elche is not bad either. They restaurant is classy in and old-fashioned sort of way, but they have a populist menu for all. Their daily menu runs for 13.50 € and is exquisite. First they give you a round of appetizers: ours included homemade gazpacho, a terrine made daily, spinach, cheese, and honey pastry, and a tostada with garlicky roasted red peppers and tuna.
For entrées, they have a choice of fish, various cuts of meat, and a few kinds of rice. I'd suggest trying the local specialty: "arroz con costra". It's essentially a paella-like rice dish with tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, saffron, and rabbit, with a crust of beaten eggs and various kinds of regional Spanish sausage. It comes out looking like a bizarre pizza, but then they slice it, open it up, and spoon out all the gooey goodness below. It was delicious, and very filling! For dessert, we had a homemade pomegranate sorbet and they even brought out two cute mini-bottles of traditional herb liqueur and a homemade date-raisin liqueur, both reputed to aid in digestion.
The wait-staff is old-school and proud of their restaurant, something I always like. Afterwards, I'd suggest taking a stroll through the park to work off some of that heavy (but heavenly)"arroz con costra! All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better lunch.
Right around the Basilica de Santa Maria in Elche, you'll find this cozy, somewhat-hidden restaurant serving fresh and authentic regional cuisine. It's one of those places that goes almost overlooked when you walk by, but you enter the front door and descend into the cellar where you'll find stone archways sheltering cozy rooms with white linen tables, all kinds of bullfighting paraphernalia, and photos of tons of Spanish celebrities and local socialites enjoying the restaurant.
They serve regional cuisine, and it's fresh from the garden or fishing boats. We had the snails, a delicious and generous portion of small Levante-area snails cooked with garlic and tomatoes. The fried calamari was second to none and not at all rubbery (a sign that they're usually frozen). We also had some deliciously plump mussels and freshly-grilled wild mushrooms dressed with garlic, parsley, olive oil, and lemon juice.
The price is reasonable and they let you order half portions of everything so you have an opportunity to try a nice spread of local delicacies. But be warned, the menu is merely for suggestion only. Ask the waiter what they have first. They wont have everything on the menu, they'll only have those items which are in season and guaranteed fresh. Highly recommended if you're in Elche and looking for an authentic place for dinner.
This tapas bar is among the oldest in the city, and is also among the most traditional. It is on the doorstep of one of the oldest bridges of Elche, which is known as "bridge of the Virgin". Interestingly, it retains its original name. Today, it is a well known meeting point to spend an enjoyable evening, with a large number of homemade tapas with a twist. It's small, with no chairs to sit on, just bar stools which helps to create an interesting and communicative environment. The price varies according to the tapas that you have but to give you an idea, you can eat and be full for around 10 euros.

A lovely modern place with great service where you can enjoy a fine paella. It hosts lots of business lunches during the week but at the weekends you can come with your family because they have an area for the children so you can eat while they are playing. You may request special menus for business lunches and family lunches. They also have a very good wine list, delicious homemade desserts, and first-rate cocktails
This place serves delicious homemade meals, very good wines and is good value for money. Lovely for a romantic candlelit dinner on a Saturday night, with roses and romantic music, good food and fine wines. The homemade desserts are also great.
This place is easy to find as it is on the premises of Mustang Gallery. It is very modern, with good prices and homemade food. It is a good place to eat in the Business Park of Elche / Torrellano. La Cuna tea house ("tetería" in Spanish) is located in Elche's historic El Raval district. It's on a somewhat deserted street and a bit tricky to find, but it's a casual spot to have a tea, enjoy some good conversation with your friends or the friendly bartender, and maybe even see some live music, not a common occurrence in sleepy Elche.
They serve some basic tapas, and a selection of teas, coffees, beers, and wines. As far as the tea goes, I'd recommend the "Tuareg" tea, a North African blend of cardamom, cinnamon, and black tea, or the "Nepal," a subtly pungent variety of black tea.
The tea house is located in a historic home complete with plaster walls, wooden ceilings, and an interior courtyard (covered, unfortunately) with Arab-style tables and chairs. Cool place to a mid-afternoon tea to wake up after a hearty lunch.
