Wonderful abbey

This abbey reminded us of Claregalway , not only because of its design that resembled many of the ruins and views across the island, also because its not in the tour visits and is very tranquil. Thee was not a soul to be found apart from the two horses that received us in a fenced field attached to the building and the ubiquitous crows. It goes without saying that the entrance is free of charge. The abbey dates back to the twelfth century and was founded by Benedictine monks of Glastonbury later becoming the Cistercian monastery.
