House of Social Classes

It's the first historic building you see when entering the city and is capable of surprising and frightening. This brick building was the seat of the parliament of the influential Mecklenburg provincial States, composed of the nobility and the towns, so it receives the popular name House of Social Classes. The architect, Grand Ducal Mockel, designed it in a historic style in 1890, and after passing through several uses, it is currently the higher regional court.
