An area rich in history and culture, and great for nature-lovers

Huancavelica is an area rich in history and culture, with 8 colonial churches, the Santa Barbara mine was one of the biggest in the world by the presence of Mercury. Huancavelica lives to the rhythm of the festivities as the "Sweet Child Jesus name" in January, the feast of "Saint Christopher Emmanuel-child" in February, "Holy Week" in April, "the feast of the Holy Spirit" in June; "Anniversary Party Huancavelica" in August, "the party boy Lachocc / scissors dance" in December. In Huancavelica, we can take advantage of the thermal waters of San Cristobal and Secsachaca. It is is also on the route of the Incas.

A town hit by the passage of time

Excellent

Huancavelica is a town hit by the passage of time. It is in the central-southern Peru and is made up of territory of both sides of the Andes with some areas covered by the Amazon rainforest, and is by far the poorest area in the country. Visiting it was an experience in which you can find many realities, the beauty of nature gives you the feeling of entering a "cold paradise" by low temperatures but hits you with the image of the natives and their situation that isn´t so good. This city was hit hard during the time of terrorism and it has not recovered, I can only be thankful for seeing this city
