La Barra Golf Club

The Barra GOLF CLUB is about 5 km. from the centre of La Barra - Punta del Este and 20 km. from the Peninsula. Summer season is high season. Players need a handicap to play. This Golf Club opened in 1994, and the Uruguayan players Paullier Gonzalo Vidal and Victor were behind it. They got the authorization of the Administration in 1992 for the construction of these courses in what is called the Cañada de los Flamingos in the Barra del Maldonado. At the beginning it had 15 holes, but two months later they had all the 18 holes. Throughout its 6343-yard course there are many bodies of water which act as obstacles.
