Lenin Statue

In Central Asia there are still plenty of remnants of the former USSR. Although many of the former Soviet Republics have each been working to slowly eliminate statues and other signs, and will probably continue to do so, it is still possible to find some like this gigantic statue of Lenin in the border city of Osh.

During the day that we spent there, we saw a group of dancers preparing to celebrate their country's Independence Day, precisely in the "shadow" of this symbol. A bit ironic is not it? :-)
