Lincoln

With a population of about 90,000 inhabitants, Lincoln is in Lincolnshire and it is a very nice resort. It dates all the way back to the Iron Age, and archaeologists discovered circular huts dating from the first century. C. Today it is impossible to know for sure about the original settlements because the remains are beneath the Roman ruins and the medieval and modern cities. In 1068 William the Conqueror ordered the construction of the castle of Lincoln in the same place in the Roman camp. The first cathedral was orginally a small church in 653, then a cathedral was begun when the seat of the bishopric was moved from Dorchester, in 1072, and was completed in 1092.
