La Maison Georges Larnicol is right in front of the Opéra National de Bordeaux and offers beautifully made and delicious macarons, biscuits, meringues and chocolates that are ideal for gifts - or to eat in one of the gorgeous places of the city.
It's a good sized store with a great variety of pastries - there are lots of flavors of macarons, such as vanilla, chocolate, praline, coffee, pistachio, almond, raspberry, lemon, exotic coco, licorice... They also have cool creations like chocolate guitars, shoes and birds. Although it looks fancy, the pastries are affordable.
