Municipal Archaeological Museum of Alicante

The discovery of the treasures of Villena in 1963 encouraged the Ministry of Culture to consider the importance of these collections and to officially create an Archaeological Museum under the name of José María Soler. It opened on November 3, 1957 with the materials gathered by José María Soler over more than 40 years of archaeological work in Villena and its environs.
