Instruments of the World
When I think of museums my imagination is pretty much limited to art, history and dinosaur bones. In fact, I have to admit that I had no idea that a museum like this ever existed before my sister took me here, but the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix is really an amazing way to spend a day.
First, the building itself is beautiful. I had imagined that the museum would be small, after all how many instruments are there? Well it turns out that there are far more than I could ever imagined and this large museum would fit right in among the museums of the Smithsonian in Washington. With countless interactive and video exhibits that not only have the original instruments on display, but also have recording of the instruments being used in performance. One could literally spend weeks here without repeating anything; there are over 6,000 instruments on display!
