Nafpaktos

Beautiful, welcoming villages on the Gulf of Corinth. It is roughly 10 km away from the bridge linking Peloponnese with Central Greece. Formerly called Lepanto, this is where the famous battle took place in which the famous Cervantes participated and was wounded. The strong walls that lead down to the harbor are magnificent. The atmosphere is very nice and you can't visit without contemplating the statue erected in honor of Miguel de Cervantes.
