Otsu Harbour

My first stage ended in Otsu, a beautiful city situated on the banks of a huge lake called Shiga, 65km. north-east of Osaka. The road that leads here crossed an endless industrial park which made me unable to enjoy the beautiful views. Everything changed a few kilometers before reaching Otsu, as I saw tea fields, which accompanied me along my journey to Tokyo. If you climb up to the top of the mountains, you can see Otsu and the enormous Shiga lake from above, it was the first great pitch that nature gave me in this country. It was late and I still had many miles to go, but I decided to lose myself in this very beautiful city and find a place to pitch my tent.
