The great vantage point of the river Mondego
In Coimbra district, and 22 km of it, at the highest point of Penacova, the viewpoint Penedo do Castro is formed by a set of granitic rocks at the highest part of the town. It has the best panoramic views over "a livraria do Mondego" a set of rocks (like books) placed haphazardly on the banks of the river Mondego.
