Uniting old and modern city

It is not the most beautiful square in the city but, with this size, it unites the old and the modern sections of the city. Plaza de Catalunya is a symbol of the city, one of the most famous and the place where half of the city meets up.

It is a very easy place to get to, many subway and suburban train arrive there, as well as bus and nitbus (night bus) lines. To go to the airport the Aerobús starts from Plaza Catalunya and there is also a Tibibus going to the Tibidabo attraction park.

On Plaza Catalunya there are official monuments, bank headquarters, shops (a huge Corte Inglés, FNAC), etc.

Meeting point

Plaza Catalunya is a meeting point for all tourists and locals! It is one of the most important centers for public transport in the city, as well as a good starting point to go shopping, to museums, on tours, etc.

Gate to the Gothic Quarter and El Raval

Plaza Catalunya is not especially nice looking, but it is the meeting point par excellence of Barcelona. It's the gate to the Gothic Quarter and El Raval. If you have the opportunity, I recommend sitting on a bench and observing people and life in the neighborhood.

Good place to be.

Excellent

You can see the famous arquitecture made by Gaudi and take a tour inside it. It’s also well comunicated with all the área, such as restaurants or even the shopping malls.

If you're visiting you're likely to walk by plaça Catalunya on múltiple occasions.

Good

It's the centre of the city where lots of public transit passes through. you can also catch the Aerobus here to get to the airport quickly and conveniently.
