Port of Menteith and Menteith Lake

On the way to Loch Lomond, in the district of Stirling, almost in the middle of nowhere, is the Lake of Menteith near the village of Port of Menteith. It is in a remote yet idyllic location - very quiet, with spectacular scenery. It is a popular place with fishermen, who have a club where you can rent boats for fishing in the lake. Historically, the site's history is linked to the development of Augustinian monks in the area, as in the center of the lake is Inchmahome Abbey . The village consists of several houses built in medieval times around the church. Port of Menteith is also famous for being the image of one of the most famous postcards of Scotland.
