    San Carlos, Nicaragua

    Excellent

    I was recently in San Carlos, Nicaragua for the umpteenth time, but this time I was invited to stay at the Posada de Doña Juanita, which is owned by Henry Sandino Flores and his wife, Merceditas Balladares. It has four well-equipped rooms with private baths, cable TV, Internet, and A/C. You can stay there for a good price, and an excellent breakfast included in the rate. According to its owner, Dona Juanita's Inn was given its name in honor of the owner's mother, who had an altruistic heart and was always giving peasants a place to stay.
