Roman Theatre of Lisbon

Near the Castle is the Roman Theatre and you find it almost by accident. In this case the 1755 earthquake played a positive role as the ruins of the theater were discovered after the earthquake (they had been buried since it was abandoned in the fourth century AD). But during the reconstruction of the city, although difficult to understand, buildings were erected on these Romans remains, so it wasn't until 1964, when several buildings were demolished that excavations began.

Beautiful views

The Roman Museum in Lisbon is on the hill of San Jorge Castle. The facade is seventeenth century but the exact date of its construction is unknown, it was also amended during the twentieth century by the addition of another floor. It can be visited Tuesday-Sunday 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00. Admission is free. The collection itself is not of great importance, but it has a terrace from which there are beautiful views.
