Round Tower

The Kapiya Hissar or Round Tower, formed part of the fortifications of the 3 hills of the first Byzantine period (5th - 6th centuries). The east gate is somewhere in this area as well. The Turkish name Kapiya Hissar (meaning "Fortress Gate") still used today, revealing the importance of the gate in this place during the end of the Middle Ages, when the fortifications in this area were significantly reconstructed.
