St Joseph's Church

North of the Basilica of the Annunciation, almost adjacent, is the Church of San Jose, above the traditional place of his carpintery. It was built on the ruins of an old 13th century Crusaders church. It is famous for its crypt at the entrance to the lower church, its wine cellar with Byzantine mosaic adjacent to an underground cave as well as a silo. A baptismal font and the remains of ancient carpentry are still found here, or so the story tells.
