a Tribute to Kristina of Norway
This statue is in front of the collegiate church of Covarrubias. It is a tribute to Princess Kristina of Norway, who married the brother of Alfonso X the Wise out of convenience. Unfortunately, she did not adapt well and died 4 years after the wedding. Her tomb is inside the building, but the statue is more modern. It was created in1978, when both countries paid tribute to the princess.
