A Pretty Bourgeois House of the 19th Century

Excellent

His pretty museum, located near the Serranos towers and the house of Les Roques, houses the collection of the Benlliure family and perfectly recreates the atmosphere of the great house where one of the most famous families of artists of Valencia lived in the 19th Century. The patriarch of the family Benlliure, and house owner, was José Benlliure Gil, born in Valencia in 1855 and died in this house in 1937 at the age of 82. Of all the Benlliure family saga, it is worth highlighting the already mentioned José Benlliure (artist), his son José Benlliure Ortiz and his uncle Mariano Benlliure (sculptor). It is a rich bourgeois house typical of the time and it houses a living room, study, an office full of paintings, the bedroom and dining room, where you will find a great variety of valuable objects as well as works by the family members. The museum also has the two studies of the two Josés, and a romantic garden typical of that time. You will also find works by Sorolla and Muñoz-Degrain. It is also a good idea to vista de Casa de las Rocas, an interesting museum that is a few steps away from this house.
