The Dock

The Dock is a contemporary art center in Carrick on Shannon, a town of about 3500. It was Formerly used as courts of the city. Some people do not have good memories of the structure due to the behavious that the British had during the occupation and the trials that took place. But now it has become the Contemporary Art Centre County Leitrim. It has 2 exhibition halls, not very large. It also has a room that can hold up to 100 where they put on different performances and other activities. The seats can be retracted, so the space can be devoted to other activities. Since 2005 they have celebrated in December the TRADE seminar a meeting of local artists seeking national and international projection.
