The Sheep´s Gate

The Sheep´s Gate is the last vestige of the old city wall of Trim which was built by Geoffrey de Geneville, who occupied the castle in the thirteenth century. It is the only surviving gate of the 5 original city gates. The entrance was closed daily between 21:00 and 4:00 pm and a tool was charged was imposed for letting the sheep enter to go to the market. It is located next to the yellow bell tower and Talbot castle.
