The Stone and the Water Route

This weekend I went hiking to La Ruta del Agua y la Piedra. As the name suggests, it is a hiking trail that starts at the roundabout at Castaños en Barrantes, famous for its wines and situated on the river Umia. This route was inaugurated last April and was attended by well known people from politics and the local area. The walk is along the banks of the river, passing fences, wooden seats and stone mills, and of course, workshops of the workers who were hired by the Provincial of Pontevedra to restore these water mills. A nice walk along the Umia river which ends at the Monastery of Armenteira, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery offered by this natural environment such as water ( river) and stone (mills).
