1 review of The Stone Fountain

Richly decorated

Due to the exploitation of the silver mines, Kutna Hora always had difficulty with drinking water. The water was brought to small reserves through wooden pipes, and then eventually, clay pipes. This fountain was constructed in 1493 with 12 sides richly decorated by one of the builders of the cathedral. It indicates the opulence of the miners and the bourgeoisie of the time.
